Our Credit Risk team plays a pivotal role in shaping our financial difficulty policies and standards for mortgages and unsecured lending, as well as tracking and monitoring collections and recoveries performance. We're looking for an experienced Collections Risk Manager to join our team and help us continue to support customers in financial difficulty and manage credit losses.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing risk policies and standards to provide solutions for customers in financial difficulty.
  • Use your technical and analytical skills to explore data solutions to drive better decision making and risk segmentation.
  • Develop insight to identify trends in collections and recoveries. Design pre-arrears strategies and collections risk segmentation.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and ensure Virgin Money’s collections risk policies and standards adhere to all applicable standards.

 We need you to have

  • Significant collections experience including experience of developing collections and recoveries policies, standards risk segmentation and pre-arrears strategies in either unsecured, or secured consumer lending products (credit cards, overdrafts, personal loans and mortgages).
  • A deep understanding of data analytics, with expertise in SAS.
  • Strong skills in presenting complex concepts in an engaging and understandable way.
  • A genuine desire to understand data, processes, risks and outcomes to drive action.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential:

  • Knowledge of Python.

If you're successful in securing a role with us, there are some checks you need to complete before starting. These include credit and criminal record checks and three years' worth of satisfactory references. If the role is part of the Senior Manager Regime and Certification Regime, it requires enhanced pre-employment checks – we'll ask for six years of regulatory references, and once in the role, you'll be subject to periodic employment checks.
