Reporting directly to the TOCS Operations & Control Manager this role is responsible for the management of our resource and non resource baseline costs across Technology Operations & Cyber Security.

This role requires the individual to plan and manage our baseline financials of c£100m providing detailed information and analysis to the TOCS Leadership Team to enable them to make financial decisions. This includes quarterly and annual reprofiling and planning in conjunction with our Leadership Team and Finance Partners to ensure there is a full understanding of the TOCS cost of ownership.

Non resource –Tight controls over new and renewing 3rd party costs with escalation handling in conjunction with Relationship Managers and our Procurement colleagues is a key part of the financial risk management to ensure we meet stretch targets each financial year whilst continuing to operate efficiently with no risk to colleague and customer services. You’ll also be given the opportunity to learn about our new Azure Cloud platform and it’s financial management, working closely with the Senior Azure Commercial Analyst to ensure project Cloud allocation and costs are tracked and processed accordingly, identifying areas of cost savings and optimisation.

Resource – As well as tracking our operational FTE people costs you will support the Operations & Controls Manager in ensuring we meet our recovery challenge through active supply & demand management, tracking of recoveries and liaising with resource managers on areas of concern or escalations. Forecasting and tracking of additional costs such as contractors is also key to ensure these are on an exception basis only.

This role in a nutshell/ Day to day you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake all aspects of financial management including Purchase Order requisition raising, invoice receipting, prepayments and accruals.
  • Provide guidance and training to TOCS relationship managers in all aspects of procurement & policy governance, financial management and use of P2P.
  • Actively manage all new and renewing 3rd party procurement activities including regular renewal sessions with relationship managers, LT and Procurement
  • Actively support all supply & demand reporting and escalation of recovery challenges
  • Provide timely updates to LT and other stakeholders such as Finance and the D&I Commercial Team
  • Facilitate the TOCS Finance monthly Business Control Meeting in conjunction with the D&I Commercial Team – documentation and articulation of variances, risk & opportunities and action follow up to ensure executive decisions can be made
  • Ensure appropriate actions and/or escalations are undertaken in accordance with Bank policies
  • Undertake continual service improvements of the TOCS financial review and planning processes.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Experience and understanding of P2P and financial governance processes such as ISR, MIRA, Clearing House
  • Experience and understanding of EPM supply & demand reporting and project recoveries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage technical and business stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders (across D&I, Finance, business functions) and proactively identify opportunities for cost reductions or risk mitigations.
  • Excellent Microsoft skills, with Advanced level Excel skills (use of formulas, Vlookup, pivot tables) and Advanced level PowerPoint skills.
