Our Team

We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and skilled Robotics (Intelligent Automation) Senior Tech Lead to join our dynamic OEE team within Enterprise Systems. We're a dedicated group with a singular focus: delivering cutting-edge technology to empower our colleagues to deliver top-notch customer service at lightning speed.

The OEE (Operations Engineering Efficiencies) is part of Enterprise Systems, closely partnering with various Operations teams to provide them with the technology systems that support our customers and colleagues.

We have developed several Robotic Process Automations leveraging Blue Prism over the years for Account Opening, Account Closures, Cash ISA Transfer, Mortgage Broker Offer Generation and a number of other automations across Mortgages, Business Banking, Retail Banking and more. We are looking to not only continue to enhance those propositions but have ambitions to improve our customer and colleague experiences by growing our Robotics capability where appropriate. In addition, we have a migration program underway to migrate all our Blue Prism automations to Microsoft Power Automate Desktop

This role will be leading the Robotics Engineering capability within OEE. You will support and develop the Engineers, provide engineering leadership and own the delivery of our Robotics automations ensuring our systems are scalable, secure and efficient and supporting the Blue Prism to Power Automate Desktop migration programme.

What you’ll be doing

  • Reporting to the Engineering Lead, you’ll be responsible for line managing a team of talented Engineers and provide direction for the capabilities being built by them. This includes recruitment activities, management of team financials and ensure delivery is done using approved tools and technologies.
  • Build and maintain Robotics delivery roadmap working with the business stakeholders whilst also ensuring continued focus on Platform Health and stabilisation and building secure, resilient and observant platforms.
  • Management of team financials.
  • Lead and drive end-to-end software delivery ensuring business expectations on delivery and code quality are met.
  • Drive continuous improvements and improve ways of working including collaboration with relevant areas (e.g. Devops, Release Management, Infrastructure, QA) to enable faster release and deployment cycles.
  • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management tasks for our relationship with the supplier and maintaining strong relationships with Operations teams and our delivery partners.
  • Work with architecture team to design solutions that are secure, scalable and optimised for performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members including taking part in design and code reviews, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure best practices and standards are built and followed in Robotics automations development and delivery.

We need you to have

  • Experience in a technical lead role, leading the delivery of large and complex projects and leading the team of engineers.
  • Excellent hands-on technical skills to help the team and solve problems at hand.
  • Deep understanding of Robotics architecture with Blue Prism and Power Automate Desktop with proficiency in designing and implementing RPA solutions interacting with legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with building Blue prism processes/objects and Power Automate flows (Cloud and Desktop), Work Queues demonstrating End to End process delivery in Robotics.
  • Experience in designing solutions including Web Automation, UI Automation, Windows Application automation, Excel Automation, Mainframe Automation using Blue Prism and Power Automate Desktop.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platform especially in Azure IaaS for Virtual machines.
  • Experience of working in On-Premises Infrastructure of Virtual machines where Robotics automations run.
  • Strong Engineering skills but also a background to Solution/Architectural Design.

It’s a bonus if you have but not essential

  • Blue Prism Process Solutions Certification (ASD01)
  • Microsoft Power Platform Functional Consultant Certification (PL-200)
  • Cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect or Microsoft Administrator Associate) is a plus.
  • Experience in projects migrating on-premises workloads to Cloud (laaS, PaaS and SaaS).
  • Experience working in Financial Services or Other regulated market sector.
