Doing the red thing

Culturally, we work hard to drive inclusion, so our colleagues feel safe to speak up, are supported to contribute to their fullest potential and inspired to better understand other perspectives.   Our code of conduct "doing the red thing" makes sure that we live up to our responsibilities of enabling colleagues to be themselves in the workplace and encouraging others to do the same.  Our allyship framework BRAVER accelerates us towards our ambition.  

We've built solid foundations to support our DE&I vision. Starting from ensuring we’ve fair recruitment processes in place, having truly inclusive approach to pay and making sure our colleagues find a balance between their work-life with their personal commitments.

Our inclusion networks

We believe in collective greatness.  Our network groups are made up of a community of inspiring and committed volunteers who are passionate about championing equity and inclusion throughout the colleague journey at Virgin Money.  Our networks support Virgin Money to amplify under-represented voices, be advocates of positive change, and provide safe spaces for peer support.

We 've 6 colleague network groups all sponsored by senior leaders who advocate for their communities and allies.

Aspire

Our Aspire network provides colleagues with mentoring, sponsoring and networking opportunities. Aspire offers a wide range of activities from sharing personal career stories, leadership panel discussions and in person events such as our STEM careers week.

Balance

Everyone matters in Virgin Money, and Balance is here to provide learning opportunities and insights to support in creating a balanced workforce, where gender isn’t an issue. Our Balance community also supports colleagues from early parenthood through to the menopause.

Embrace

Our culture is all of you, coming together to create something special. Embrace is here to find and celebrate the things that make our individual cultures so unique by amplifying underrepresented voices, raising awareness, and providing a safe space.

Enable

Enable are focused on supporting colleagues and allies with direct and indirect lived experience of disability, chronic illness, caring responsibilities and neurodivergence. Enable works hard to identify areas for improvement in the colleague experience.  

Vibrant

Our award winning Vibrant network enables and empowers LGBTQI+ colleagues and allies to champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. Vibrant drive participation in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index and in 2024 Virgin Money placed in the top 100 employers in the Stonewall Workplace Equality index.

Vets@Virgin

Our Vets network provides support and awareness for Armed Forces veterans and allies as they return to civilian life.  Working in partnership with the forces, our network runs signature career access days to promote career pathways for those transitioning.
