Charity and community
We think banking should be about more than just interest rates and statements. We want to use our expertise to do some good in the world – for charities, communities and the environment. Right across the UK we’re working on a number of projects and initiatives to help make everyone better off.
Virgin Money Giving
Inspired by our sponsorship of the Virgin Money London Marathon, we wanted to find ways of helping people raise even more for charity. So we set up our not-for-profit fundraising website, Virgin Money Giving, to help people raise more for good causes.
The Virgin Money Foundation
The Virgin Money Foundation aims to support local people with the vision and drive to transform their communities. We provide funding to help people who love where they live and want to change it for the better.
Virgin Money London Marathon
We’re proud sponsors of the Virgin Money London Marathon - the world’s largest single day annual fundraising event - with over £250 million raised by runners for good causes in our first 5 years.
Virgin Money Cyclone
Our sponsorship of the Virgin Money Cyclone ensures the UK’s biggest weekend cycling event can take place each year, catering for all ages and abilities.
Edinburgh Festival Fringe Street Events and Fireworks Concert
Our sponsorship of the Fringe on the Royal Mile and Mound is helping to make the festival accessible to all, and provides the fireworks concert that lights up the sky every year to close the festival in spectacular style.
Charity of the Year
We’re proud to be supporting Heads Together as our Charity of the Year. Heads Together brings The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry into partnership with inspiring charities that are tackling stigma, raising awareness, and providing vital help for people with mental health challenges. Each year our colleagues choose who our charity of the year will be, in a great example of how we can all play a part and make important choices together.
Walk of Britain
We’re honoured to be supporting the latest expedition from Walking with the Wounded. The Walk of Britain will see six wounded veterans walking over 1,000 miles, to raise valuable funds to support physically, mentally and socially disadvantaged ex-service personnel.
