The Virgin Money Lounge.

As part of our mission to transform the face of high-street banking, we asked ourselves, ‘What do customers really want?’ And part of the answer was our ground-breaking Lounges, which have transformed customer interaction and re-established banks at the heart of the community.

The Lounges aren’t branches, they’re social spaces used by customers, their guests and the community for any purpose. We’re breathing new life into the bank-customer relationship. Since the first one opened in late 2011, we’ve welcomed over 900,000 visitors into our Lounges with the sole aim of creating a beautiful, welcoming and restful place. And it takes a combination of 12 different Virgin Money departments, all working together to make the Lounge magic happen.

It all starts with brilliant people like Nigel who, with the rest of our Property team, find the right place for our Lounges and then make sure everything’s in place to make it a unique and welcoming environment. Which is where Matt and our other Lounge team members come in. To look after our customers, and see they’ve got everything they need - from a nice cup of coffee and a biscuit, to iPads and free Wi-Fi access - to make the most of their Virgin Money experience. And it’s all made possible by the likes of Rohit and his colleagues in IT, working hard to ensure the tech systems are in place to support a wonderful customer experience.
